About Malware Brief
Malware Brief is an independent news site launched in 2026. It reports on 6 sections: Malware & Ransomware, Cyber Attacks, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerabilities, Data Breaches, Cloud Security. It is written for students and people entering security.
Our motto is “Cybersecurity news without the noise”. In practice that means a story is published when a primary source confirms it, and it says plainly what is known and what is not.
Where our reporting comes from
The newsroom follows more than 50 sources, and the fastest of them are checked every 45 seconds. They include government advisories such as the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, the National Vulnerability Database, the CVE Program, vendor security bulletins and first-hand research. When we rely on another outlet's reporting, we name it and link to it.
How stories are produced
Articles are prepared with AI-assisted drafting and automated monitoring of official sources. Each draft is checked against its sources, and unsupported numbers, quotes or claims are rejected before publication. The sources are listed under every article, with the publish and update times.
Guides
Alongside the news, Malware Brief publishes 60 reference guides. Guides cover the ideas behind the headlines in plain language and show the date they were last reviewed.
